My start in yoga was rough. I was terrified to go to a class in which I did not know anything about. I did not know know any of the postures and did not look anything like a typical "yogi".
I encourage people to try yoga for at least 5 classes. Being able to come to a class where you are asked not to think, just move and breathe is life-changing and empowering. My goal is to have the studio be a place where people can go and just be themselves: without expectations, judgments, or competition.
Stacy Wolf instructs the following:
- Long Slow Deep
Keeping true to the class name, Long Slow Deep combines breath, slow movements and deep stretches held for longer periods of time. This class format combined with plenty of hands-on assists makes for the ultimate chill yoga class. Long Slow Deep is for anyone looking to increase mobility and flexibility or simply a place to unwind. Yogis can expect soft music in a calm setting with minimal talking.
